Work & Education History
As a child I had the privilege to sit on my fathers work
table in Oslo, Norway,
watching him put skin to skin together for fur garments.
He was the Guild Master in Oslo back then working also
for members of the Norwegian Court and designing and
producing some fur clothing for the crowning
ceremonies of Queen Elizabeth of England.
After being educated in Germany passing the exam as a
Master Furrier, I opened my store and workshop.
In 2004 my wife and I came to the United States.

The Federal educational degree of a Master Furrier in
Germany is put together by the following courses:
Practical handling and processing of all materials in
demand.
Matching the Furs, ensuring the correct light for the color shades was given a very high priority.
Thorough education in let out work; calculation of material, calibrating and planning the patterns of stripes and
cuts as well as angle to influence the look of the nap of the Fur. The use of different Handseam-applications
particular to the material was given a broad scope as well as finishing the garment. Learned to join the curls in the
Broadtail, setting one pelt according to character on the other as well as working with Goliak, nailing them up with
darts without seams. The Cat-family had a broad scope, from Leopard to Ozelot, Peludo and Cerval, the same
importance was given to the Foxes and all other material.
Here is a list of Furs that I worked with in course of time; as let out work or skin on skin:
Foxes, Cats, Minks, Martens; from Sable to Kolinsky, Otters and Arirahna, Karakul, Beavers, Wallabys, Seals and
Furseal(Lakoda), Chinchilla, Muskrat and Desman, Marmot, Rabbit, Squirrel, Guanaco, Hamster, Ermine, Wolf,
Lynx, Bobcat, Nutria, Mole and more belonging to the different families.
A pattern creation and design course at the Craftsmen´s Academy in Frankfurt, Germany taught by Mr. Ernst
Röhrs, also learning to diagnose and correct errors in the pattern and design.
In addition a semester course was accomplished learning psychologically how to educate apprentices, and
Journeymen to advance to be Masters, preparing them for the Federal exam.
